To this end, the instrument has disc-shaped tips featured with small serrations. Moreover, the jaws curved outline grants improved maneuverability over the cornea’s surface. As a result, surgeons can depress the cornea, clamp the flap, and pull it back to create a hinge.
In addition, the device has flat handles with a spring action. When surgeons press the handles’ outer surface, they create the desired grade of pressure for preventing tissue injury. Also, each handle has three circular fenestrations that provide superior control.
