The SURTEX® Martin Nasal Speculum assist surgeons to examine and treat diseases in the nose, like bleeding. Therefore, the instrument helps remove foreign bodies in the nose cavity or place packs to stop the blood. During the exam, you can also take a biopsy to detect tumors or infections.
Surgeons place the speculum to widen the nares as they look at the nasal walls. Therefore, we designed its grip handles with a long profile to give dexterity and control. Moreover, the handles have outer serrations to enhance your hold.
Start by placing the closed cone blades in the nares. Then, use the handles to open them slowly. We made the retracting edges of the blades with a blunt outline to prevent tissue injury. In addition, the two blades have a large cone so you can view the nasal cavity clearly.
For your convenience, we optimized two models of the SURTEX® Martin Nasal Speculum to suit your surgical approaches. The straight model is 13 cm long and a curved model is available with a length of 12.5 cm. Both have blades with a size of 17 mm to enable easy examinations. Furthermore, the shafts are slender so you can see the blades directly.
SURTEX® Instruments manufacture surgical devices from premium grade stainless steel that you can depend on for years of fine service.
