SURTEX® Tuning Forks provide several features to assist in ear examinations. For instance, we optimized these forks for the detection of hearing loss. In addition, they can test for different causes of deafness.

To perform their functions optimally, each fork has two prongs, dampers, a shoulder, a stem and a base. In order for you to obtain a set frequency, strike the prongs on a hard surface at the junction between the upper and middle thirds.

Then, bring the fork 2.5 cm close to the ear to test air conduction. For the best results, place the prongs at right angles to the ear. After the first test, place the base on the mastoid process to test bone conduction.

We offer a wide range of tuning forks for your convenience. With SURTEX® Tuning Forks, you can guarantee the tools to cover your clinical needs.

SURTEX® Instruments manufacture ear instruments from premium grade materials for reliable ear examinations.
