The Aorta Punch offers a wide range of advantages during cardiovascular surgeries that require anastomosis. Its principal use is to create atraumatic circular cuts in the endothelium of the aorta to create an anastomosis spot.
For this purpose, the punch features a cone-shaped, disk-like tip that allows for passing into pre-made vascular holes. In addition, the device includes a plunger system that enables the surgeon to perform fast and precise incisions.
Moreover, the Aorta Punch is available in five tip diameters that range from 2.8 to 6.0mm. The disc-like area behind the tip is extremely useful to entrap the portion of the tissue to be cut. As a result, the circular sharp blade can easily incise the wall of the aorta having the flat support of the disc.
Additionally, the device has two lateral cylinders that ensure an impeccable grip. This special handle is extremely useful to maneuver the plunger system with precision.
