SURTEX® Chevalier-Jackson Tracheal Tubes help patients to breathe through the neck opening after throat surgeons perform a tracheotomy. Doctors make this opening if there are masses or tumors in the neck that block the normal upper airway. The tubes reduce the sedation needed for long term ventilation. In addition, they prevent the infection and pain caused by oral tubes.
Surgeons start by opening and retracting neck tissues to make the neck opening. Then, they insert the SURTEX® Chevalier-Jackson Tracheal tube in the stoma.
Each set has an outer and an inner tube to offer an optimal function. The doctors fix the outer tube to the neck for stability. Then, they insert the long inner tube to prevent blocks by thick mucus.
We make a wide variety of Chevalier tubes to suit a range of surgical needs. They range from 45 to 90 mm, and are available with diameters ranging from 5 to 13 mm.
Furthermore, the set has a lock to prevent loss of place in coughing. Also, this device has a pilot to prevent tracheal injury in the first time.
SURTEX® Instruments manufacture surgical devices from premium grade stainless steel that you can depend on for years of fine service.
