The Duplay Sponge Holding Forcep is a scissor-like, hand-held instrument that holds multiple benefits. Its principal use is to maintain the surgical field free from blood and obscuring fluids.
For this purpose, the instrument comes with a pair of serrated jaws that assist in securely grasping the drapes. Moreover, the jaws have oval grooves that surgeons use to impregnate dressings with saline solution.
In addition, the jaws are available in curved and straight profiles for suiting difficult surgical approaches. Also, the rivet joint grants a smooth shaft and jaw movement. Furthermore, the shafts comprise a ratchet that facilitates self-retaining grasps.
