The Stallard Ptosis Plate offers protection and support during blepharoptosis repair procedures. Its principal use is to provide an atraumatic way to cover that superior portion of the ocular globe.
For this purpose, the instrument features a concave blade with an upper round edge designed to meet the superior fornix’s anatomy. In addition, the blade has blunt edges to easily slide between the scleral surface and the superior tarsal plate.
Moreover, the Stallard Ptosis Plate includes four pair of lateral, small holes. Once the plate is in position, surgeons drill to these holes in order to perforate the sclera. After that, they proceed to suture and fixate the eyelid and sclera to the plate, in order to obtain reliable rigid support.
Manufactured in premium grade stainless steel with a fine satin finish that reduces glare.
