SURTEX® Hudson Spherical Burrs assist doctors to perform brain surgeries. Surgeons use them to drill burr holes into skull bones when they need to perform neurosurgeries. This is important to relieve pressure after brain bleeding in order to avoid coma or loss of movement.
Surgeons start by attaching the burr to a hand drill, like the Hudson Hand Drill. Then, they rotate the drill to revolve the Hudson Spherical Burr on the bony surface. This rotation pushes the drill and its burr downwards and makes a hole in the skull.
Therefore, we designed the drill handle with a knob-like frame to enhance your grip and dexterity. Moreover, it has a bayonet profile to increase your comfort and prevent hand slips. We also made the terminal thumbscrew chuck to lock the burr bits in place. The chuck allows easy and secure attachment of drill bits and prevents accidental slips and slides in critical surgeries. In addition, a chuck keyhole is available so that you can loosen the burr bit easily.
The SURTEX® Hudson Spherical Burr is available with diameters of 16 and 22 mm to suit your indications. In addition, we designed several drill bits for your convenience, like the Hudson Conical Burr. You can use these tools to customize your approach for every patient.
SURTEX® Instruments manufacture these devices from premium grade stainless steel that you can depend on for years of efficient service.
