The Mellinger Eye Speculum offers a broad range of advantages during ophthalmic exploration. Its principal use is to retract both eyelids to gain an enhanced view of the surgical field.
For this purpose, the instrument features 15mm open-wire blades that ensure maximum retraction. In addition, the blades have convex curves that easily fit the orbital margin. Furthermore, the slightly curved outline of the device is ideal to press it against the facial contour.
Moreover, the Mellinger Eye Speculum features a spring bar between the handles. As a result, surgeons can press the serrated finger grips to tighten the width of the blades and facilitate the insertion under the eyelids.
Manufactured in premium grade stainless steel with a fine satin finish that reduces glare.
