The Cooley Mitral Valve Retractor is a heart surgery instrument that has specific uses during mitral valve plasty and mitral valve replacement.
Firstly, the blade has a fenestrated design and comes with a central wire. This feature allows surgeons to horizontally retract the edge of the left atrium. As a result, the surgical staff can visualize the mitral valve from a vertical perspective.
In addition, the retractor’s handle has a hollow profile and comes with vertical ridges. The ridges enhance gripping and avoid slippage.
Lastly, all our Cooley Mitral Valve Retractors are available in plain or serrated tip blade models. Also, the instrument can be right or left angled according to the surgeon needs.
