The Cooley Vascular Dilator is designed to assist surgeons during cardiovascular and vascular procedures by facilitating controlled vessel access and preparation at the surgical entry site. The instrument supports atraumatic dilation of the vessel opening to aid the introduction of other surgical devices under direct clinician control.

The device features a 13 cm long probe with a blunt tip to help minimise tissue trauma. It is available in multiple probe widths ranging from 0.5 mm to 5.0 mm, allowing adaptation to different procedural requirements. The malleable working end enables gentle shaping to accommodate vessel curvature when required.

In addition, the instrument incorporates a solid, hexagonal handle with knurled side grips to enhance control and reduce hand fatigue during use.
