The Finsen Wound Spreader offers a wide array of surgical advantages. Its principal use is to atraumatically pull the wound edges away from each other.
For this purpose, the instrument features multiple prongs on each jaw for accessing deep layers of tissue. In addition, the device is available in 2 x 3 and 3 x 4 prongs profiles, which surgeons can choose according to the wound. Also, the blunts are prong or sharp to traverse heavier tissues if necessary.
Moreover, the Finsen Wound Spreader features a spring handle for tightening the jaws. After that, the operator gradually loosens the device to spread the wound margins with comfort.
