The Lahey Dissecting and Ligature Forcep offers a wide range of surgical advantages. Its principal uses are to perform blunt dissection and permit efficient ligature of vessels and organs.
For this purpose, the instrument features a pair of curved jaws that help to reach a variety of surgical sites. In addition, the jaws have longitudinal serrations along their surfaces to grasp hollow structures, such as the intestines.
Moreover, the Lahey Dissecting and Ligature Forcep features a boxlock joint to perform smooth closing movements. Also, surgeons can self-retain the jaws at different pressure degrees using a ratchet system between the stems.
