The Otis Urethrotome offers a wide assortment of surgical benefits. Its principal use is to provide all the tools to atraumatically cut urethral strictures.
For this purpose, the instrument consists of several parts that perform important roles during surgery. For example, the device has a manually operated screw at the bottom, which surgeons rotate the spread the dilator. Also, there are ball, flat and conical adjustable tips ideal to suit different stricture anatomies.
Moreover, the Otis Urethrotome features small blades attached to a slim, long wire and a ridged handle. Surgeons can slide the knife through the urethrotome’s rail for placement. Also, the instrument includes a circular marker to calculate the angle of the incision and spreading width.
